The Asia-Pacific Education, Language Minorities, and Migrants (ELMM) Network, based at the University of Pennsylvania, is a global research network dedicated to the comparative study of educational provision, opportunities, and inequalities for language minority and migrant youth in the Asia-Pacific region.

Hans-Peter Kohler and Frank Furstenberg were recently awarded funds from the National Science Foundation for the Global Family Change Project. The project has collaborators at Oxford University, Bocconi University, and the Autonomous University of Barcelona and includes Penn GGD students Luca Maria Pesando & Andrés Felipe Castro Torres, and new PSC associate Pilar Gonalons-Pons. Sam Preston and Andrew Stokes have just published in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine. The full text of their new article "Prevalence and Trends in Lifetime Obesity in the U.S., 1988-2014" is now available online. Boston University, where Stokes teaches global health, has published a press release about their findings. Obesity affects the health of more than half of adults in the US and the PSC is proud to support the researchers investigating this epidemic. | Posted: 9/8/2017 -
